So I founded a Cultural No-profit Association, gathered my savings got to contact some event manager I had the luck to meet on other occasions and organized what has been the First Twilight Convention in Italy.

The results…. though it has been very rewarding financially speaking, that was not my point, it has been a HUGE SUCCESS in terms of getting in touch with the actors and getting to know them as the everyday people they really are. Now all the people that came to the first edition were so enthusiastic that asked for a second one.

People who attended First edition had the chance to meet wonderful people like Alex Meraz (Paul), Gil Birmingham (Billy Black), Daniel Cudmore (Felix), Justin Chon (Eric ) and BooBoo Stewart (Seth), they had a chat with them, danced and had lunch with them! And they appreciated the chance ’cause talking to fans about the reasons why they love their characters and the saga helped them understand the success of Twilight itself.

Last time we had the support from fansites all over the world, The Twilight Lexicon and HisGolden Eyes also came to our Con, and it was such an honour : ) . We also had people from Greece TeamEdwardPOV , and Germany Thefreedomfanfictionwriters , France as well.

SO that’s it, we (meaning me, my bf mainly helped by some other trusted friends) are organizing the SECOND TWILIGHT CONVENTION in Italy. This time it will be in Naples, surrounded by the marvellous coast, Amalfi and Capri. It will be from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th June 2011.

Up to now first guest confirmed is Peter Facinelli, other guests will soon be confirmed. Everybody will have the chance to meet them and speak to them like nowhere else is possible.

Ok New Moon has come out in Theatres and as we all knew has had a HUGE success, there are people who have seen it 12 or 14 times… I have to say that at the moment I have stopped at 3, as first time you are sooo thrilled you just catch the overall story, second time you get some more background details, 3rd to connect music of the OST to the right movie scene.
Still between the two my favs remains Twilight OST, I find that NM OST sounds very much the same, some songs really look alike a lot.
Then we had confirmation that Eclipse is going to come out on 30th June 2010 and that’s always good news to hear : ) , and that they are thinking about BD!
Sincerely I think they should cut it into two..it’s a complex book and story and it deservs all the care and attention necessary.
Last but not least update is that am organizing a Twilight Convention in Italy in honour of Eclipse, it’s going to be in Rome from 29th-31st May 2010. Have created an English page for it but have to update it.

Let me think ..what can I say about the Festival….well it could have been organized much better for sure…with a 1200 seat room for the preview screening of New Moon and 700 of those seats reserved to “press”, it came out that the room wasn’t full. As you all know tickets got sold out in less than 3 hours, some say 1 hour but I was not at the ticket office so I can’t tell for sure. I know that there have been several problems with the ticketing system on line and via call center as line would get cut or people would answer that system didn’t work. So a lot of fan remained w/o ticket. Of the 700 tickets left to press most remained empty or filled by somebody’s friend’s son or daughter, I had my ticket on the 3rd row and I heard a  lot of “please say hi to your father” stuff. So let’s say that at least another 100 tickets could have been sold in a better way, as I saw tickets on ebay selling for as much as 300€ after a few minutes regular sale had begun so there is definetevely something wrong in that!.

For the rest I will say it was great to see Charlie Bewley, Jamie C. Bower and Cameron Bright, and mainly to see some new scenes of New Moon and some behind of the scenes sequence. Pitiably they left blue lights or very strong white light in the midst so that taking a decent pic was very difficult but you can find some in my gallery.

Public was not allowed any question so we just watched them, master of ceremony asked a couple of question to our beloved actors and Melissa Rosemberg about the difficulties she had found in the transposition of the books to screenplay, and that was it.

After that there has been an autograph session reserved to people who had bought another copy of “New Moon” at the Auditorium bookshop , that should have been for a maximum o 250 people but there were def more and they had not even organized a table for that, Charlie was signing while standing and Cameron and Jamie were sitting on a pouf, you could get only one autograph and that’s it so who had to choose from who in the midst of Chaos.

The wasn’t even any kind of merchandising ava to buy apart from books. The Volterra town team organized some fliers about their city but that was it.

So what grade do I give to the whole Rome film festival 1 to 10?….mmmmh I would give them a 4 on organization, 8 on movies shown and on actors invited, 4 on Q&A and lights.

Garlic, crosses, daylight and a good decapitation are supposed to be weaknesses for a vampire, but in today’s pop culture, the modern bloodsuckers seem unstoppable.

It has been 112 years since Irish novelist Bram Stoker’s classic, “Dracula,” first swooped into European bookshops, a literary amalgam of the history of Vlad III Dracula, Prince of Wallachia (aka Vlad the Impaler), with a dash of Romanian folklore. That iconic character has given rise to many interpretations, from Bela Lugosi’s and Christopher Lee’s cinematic takes on “Dracula,” to the vamps on the TV cult hits “Dark Shadows” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and even the Count on “Sesame Street” and Count Chocula of breakfast cereal fame.

These days, though, vampires are swarming like bats out of you-know-where, especially the mega-popular book-to-screen vamps of “Twilight,” “True Blood” and “The Vampire Diaries.” With more than 70 million books sold, Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” series is a full-fledged phenomenon, particularly among teens. The first “Twilight” movie adaptation grossed nearly $200 million in theaters last fall, which bodes well for next month’s sequel, “New Moon.” “True Blood,” based on Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels, completed its second season in September and is HBO’s second-most-watched series ever, behind The Sopranos. And more people watched the debut episode of CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” than any premiere in the network’s history.

Here’s the thing about today’s vampires: Instead of coming out of the grave with hunks of flesh hanging off them, now they’re just hunks.

The stage and screen triggered these changes, according to Dacre Stoker, great-grandnephew of Bram Stoker and author of the “Dracula” sequel, “Dracula: The Un-Dead,” with vampire expert Ian Holt. “The original Dracula character was not your flashy, debonair, Eastern European guy with the sexy accent and the hair pulled back,” he says. “He was kind of an ugly old man with hair on the back of his hands. But once it needed to have more sex appeal, that’s when [Hollywood] started creating these dashing guys who could wink at the ladies and have some magnetism.”

One reason for the intense teenage interest in newer stories, especially Anne Rice’s “The Vampire Chronicles,” “Twilight” and “The Vampire Diaries,” is the sense that the vampires are outsiders among us. In “True Blood,” they’re simply trying to fit into society. Often, they’re also seen as more vulnerable and less predatory, says Karen Sternheimer, a sociologist at the University of Southern California. “Vampires look like us, but they’re different, and those areexperiences that a lot of young people can relate to,” she says, “especially dealing with not just the physical aspects of relationships when you’re young but also the emotional aspects, the danger vs. the draw of that so-called ‘forbidden love’ that really resonates with a lot ofyoung women.”

But it’s the vampire’s eternal life — barring an unforeseen stake to the heart, of course — that older generations of fans notice. “Vampires never have to go on Social Security, they never have to have a hip replacement, they’re never going to need bifocals,” says author Harris, who has 10 million Sookie Stackhouse novels in print and recently released the short-story compilation “A Touch of Dead.” “They just won’t have the problems of aging that humans face, and that’s very appealing, especially perhaps to Americans.”

Exclusive interview with “Twilight”‘s Robert Pattinson

Biting off more than he can chew?

Bela Lugosi never had to deal with hordes of screaming teenage girls like Robert Pattinson does.

But that’s just the appeal of Edward Cullen, the brooding vampire Pattinson plays onscreen and the love interest in Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” book series. Last fall’s “Twilight” movie began the love affair between Edward and the shy human girl Bella (Kristen Stewart); the sequel, “New Moon,” out Nov. 20, finds Edward banishing himself from Bella’s life.

To get a modern image of a vampire, Pattinson initially watched movies such as “Interview With the Vampire” and “Blade.” But he really discovered who Edward was by researching outcast roles not involving the undead. “Rebel Without a Cause was a big influence on the first ["Twilight" film] — it influenced the hairdo and stuff,” Pattinson says, laughing. “In lots of ways, it has a very similar character arc: An everyday girl brings this relatively strange individual out of his slump.”

A James Dean type — that is, Pattinson — always attracts teenage girls in flocks. “It’s like The Birds, with teenage girls,” says “New Moon” director Chris Weitz. “You turn around, and there would be a line of girls standing there.”

Pattinson, 23, a native of London, takes all the swooning over his lanky, 6-foot-tall frame and wildly styled hair in stride. “I’m not entirely sure what it is,” he says. “I’ll probably realize afterward how I could have controlled it a little bit more. But I am still like a deer in headlights.”

And there’s the fact that many haven’t yet separated Pattinson the actor from Edward the vampire. “Right at the beginning, everyone just called me Edward,” he says. “I don’t really mind either way. There’s something about that character that, for some reason, has sparked an interest in massive degrees in so many different people.

“If you want to compete with your own character, you have to really fight. I don’t know if I could be bothered to fight,” he says, chuckling again. “I just let it go by.”

1. First of all, tell us what changed for you after getting the chance to be a part of the Twilight Saga. What would you say are the best things and those not so good about working on something so high profile like this?

-Things haven’t changed too much, but you never know once the film is released. One positive thing would be more doors open up for me, but nothing bad so far.

2. Almost every single one of the actors have said that the fighting training for Eclipse is really brutal. We know that Felix doesn’t participate on this one but for what you’ve saw in New Moon and for having worked a lot with stunts before, which one of them do you think is suffering more to learn how to kick some serious butt for the big fight scene on the third movie?

- I’m not really sure which one suffered the most, it all depends on who has the most moves too remember, so it might be Jackson, since he has to teach the other Cullens.

3. Ok, so now about that terrible, horrendous, no-words-for-it scene when you beat the shizz out of  The Sparkle One in New Moon, how did you feel about beating up our most beloved creature known as Edward? How did you sleep that night knowing that thousand of hearts had been broken and that now you are the hero of those Twilight widows? (FYI, those who girlfriends and wives were stolen by Mr. Edward and wanted to beat him up themselves lol)

- Haha, it was a fun fight scene to work on and Robert really liked doing as much of the fight as he could, I slept like a baby afterwards. We’ll see how everyone feels after the movie comes out, and if they don’t like my character, then i did a good job.

4. We already saw the WolfPack and Edward shirtless a number of times, and you know that we want to be fair with everyone and all, so is there any way that we could get Volturi (minus Marcus because well… he’s scary as hell lol ) on that train too? And also you’ve said once that while filming the scene when you fight with Edward you ripped your pants 4 times, is that a special feature that we could see when the New Moon dvd comes out? haha

-Haha, the Volturi very rarely are shirtless, so i don’t think that will happen anytime soon. As for the ripped pants…I don’t think that will be seen on the dvd since my coat covered it up.

5. What did you know or hear about the saga before you got the role of Felix? Have your read all of the books yet? Tell us your favorite one, and one character that you would like to play besides your own if you had that chance.

-I didn’t know too much about the books, but once I got the role I read all the books. If I got to play another character I would probably like to play one of the Wolves, not sure which one.

6. Did you have the chance to see the film yet? Some of the cast did, so we wanted to know besides your fight scene what did you like the most and what you think the fans will think about it? And if you didn’t see it what could you tell us from the set that you enjoyed, maybe something fun or cool while filming?

-I haven’t got a chance to see the movie yet, so I wouldn’t be able to tell you about any scenes other then the ones I filmed.

7. Any future projects that you are looking at the moment and could tell us about?

- I just finished up filming Eclipse, not sure whats next, but I’ve been reading some great scripts.

8. Since we are a fansite and everything, how do you think that internet affects your career? I mean, do you read stuff about yourself or you just don’t bother about that? Btw, a lot of people from the cast has a Twitter account, any chance that you could be joining them anytime soon to be in touch with your fans?

- I think the Internet can be great for an actor, fan support from the internet can be great for the career, since studios now look to the internet and fan sites for instant reaction. As for a twitter account, I think they can be great and at the same time they can also give away a bit too much of your own personal life. So for now I’m not going to be tweeting.

9. We know that you used to play rugby, soccer and lots of sports, and since we’re from Brazil we couldn’t let this one pass, are you familiar with our soccer or maybe something from our country in general? Would you like to come visit us someday?

-haha, who doesn’t know about Brazilian soccer, your country has produced some of the best players in the world. I would love to visit Brazil, hopefully soon, the country is so beautiful.

10. You already played a hero once in X-Men and now you are a vilain in New Moon, right? So when you were a kid what kind of comic books or fiction heroes you liked?

- I used to have a small collection of Spiderman and xmen comic books. But that didn’t last long.

11. If not fame, money, glory, adoring fans, what else could’ve made you want to work in the Saga? What I want to say is, what do you think is so special about all of this that everyone loves so much?

-It starts with a great story written by Stephanie, but also its that love story that everyone can fall in love with, then you add in vampires warewolves, and all that action and you can see why.

12. We always end our interviews with a little game. I’m giving you some words and you gonna tell me the first thing you can think of,ok? lol Go!

Charlie a Roma

Thanks to CharlieBewleyItalia I’ve had the unique chance to meet Charlie in a nearly private meeting in a bar near his hotel in Rome. Only 10 peple were admitted to this encounter me for Twilightersitalia.com , Twilight moms italia, and a few more fans. We spent more or less two hours chatting with this amazing lad named Charlie Bewley, he spoke to us a little about himself and the story he created behind the character of Dimitri (he was a rebellius slave that was sent to the Colosseum to be a gladiator, but he was very smart and a run fast so he lived), he asked us questions as well, on what we thought of the Roman Empire and Rome’s architecture.

He is an easygoing guy full of energy that has the mind full of projects about his future, he told us some, they have to do with movies obviously but not only they regard also music and some writing, more I can’t say as we were asked not to tell.

What I can tell you is that his sign is Acquarium, as he was born on the 25th January of a not specified year, he thinks that chronological age does not matter, as everything depends on how old you feel; he loves chocolate, running, trance music and.. somethings else *smiles*, not exactly in this order though : ) ; he is enthusiasthic about this hype but hopes not to be in the target of paparazzi as he thinks that they kill your creativity, stalking you they don’t allow you to be your real self but constraint you in closing yourself up. We definetely agree with Charlie on that.

He told us how well he got along with all the cast, and that he really got friend with Daniel Cudmore, “they compensate each other” in a sort of way he says. I also spoke a little french with him, he reallyhas a good accent, as he said that he lived in Paris for a while some time ago.  He told us as well that his favourite soccer team in Italy is Lazio ’cause Gascoigne played in it, and that when he played rugby, ’cause yes he also played Rugby(!), he came to play a match in Rimini on the east coast of Italy.

We also spoke a little about fanfiction as well and I suggested the freedomfanfictionwriters site, as he was asking if there were any kind of sexy stories about Demetri as well.

So after time for pics and autograph to everybody he went away to prepare fr the Nike Human Race 10k, later he twittered he got 38 mins : ( but we know it will get better next time : )

Ieri 24 Ottobre abbiamo avuto la possibilità di incontrare in maniera quasi privata il nostro adorato Charlie”Demetri” Bewley!

Grazie a CharlieBewleyitalia Twilightersitalia, le Twilightmoms italiane e altri pochi fortunati fan, vincitori del concorso indetto dal fansite italiano di Charlie, hanno potuto incontrare Charlie in maniera riservata e fare un’allegra chiaccherata con lui lontani da flash di giornalisti, paparazzi e guardie del corpo.

Per quasi due lunghe ore Charlie ci ha deliziato con la sua presenza, raccontandoci un pò di sè e facendoci a sua volta alcune domande, terminando il tutto con un pò di foto e autografi (lo so mi odiate in questo momento ; p ).

Domandandoci inizialmente che cosa ne pensavamo della fine dell’Impero romano (domanda che ci ha un pò spiazzato inizialmente : ) ) ci ha raccontato di come fosse affascinato dalla storia della Roma Imperiale, e che visitanto la città era rimasto impressionato da Piazza Venezia, da Fontana di trevi e dall’architettura di Roma; e che nel momento di dover creare una backgroung per recitare Demetri aveva pensato a lui come uno schiavo ribelle che per punizione era stato mandato al Colosseo per diventare gladiatore, solo che anche lìaveva spiazzato tutti con la sua furbizia e velocità nel correre e aveva così guadagnato la sua libertà.

Parlando con lui è evidente come sia un ragazzo alla mano e pieno di energie, con la mente piena di progetti per il suo futuro, ce ne ha raccontato qualcuno e hanno a che fare con i film e la recitazione ovviamente, ma non solo, riguardano anche lo scrivere e la musica, di più ci è stato chiesto di non rivelare.

Possiamo dirvi che è del segno dell’Acquario, è nato il 25 Gennaio di un anno non ben precisato, ritiene che l’età cronologica non abbia importanza, tutto dipende dall’età che ti senti dentro, ma alla fine riusciamo a strappargli la conferma che comunque è ancora nella ventina. Ama il cioccolato, correre, la musica trance e qualcos’altro *sorride*, e non esattamente in questo ordine.

Trova incredibile tutto l’entusiasmo che c’è intorno a Twilight ed ai suoi attori, pensa sia derivato dall’ossessione generale che c’è nei confronti di Robert Pattinson, oltre che dalla serie dei libri, gli piace ma spera di non dover mai subire quello che sta passando Robert. Ci dice che i paparazzi uccidono la tua creatività, costringendoti a rinchiuderti in te stesso sempre di più, con la persecuzione che mettono in pratica non permettono alle persone di poter essere liberamete se stessi, loro sono sempre lì pronti a coglierti in fallo o metterti in ridicolo. Ci dice che fortunatamente lui ancora non è un soggetto a quel livello di attenzioni e spera di non esserlo mai perchè costringerebbe a non poter essere più così disponibile ed aperto. In pratica le stesse cose che ci disse anche Kellan Lutz quando lo intervistammo, e non possiamo che essere pienamente d’accordo con Charlie in questo.

Parlando del cast e di quanto tutti abbiano un incredibile talento musicale, ci riferisce che va d’accordo con tutti anche se è diventato più amico con Daniel Cudmore, si compensano, dice, e che al momento ha ancora troppa energia in corpo per potersi fermare ad imparare a suonare uno strumento o cantare.

Sa parlare francese, perchè ha vissuto a Parigi per un pò e adesso ci tornerà per la Convention che si terrà là nel weekend di Halloween. Ci ha anche riferito che gli piace il calcio e che la sua squadra italiana preferita è il Lazio perchè ci ha giocato Paul Gascoigne, da “giovane” ha anche gioato a Rubgy ed è venuto in Italia a Rimini per una partita.

Abbiamo parlato un pò di fanfiction su Demetri e domandandomi se ce ne erano di sexy gli ho consigliato il sito di freedomfanfictionwriters che è riservato ad un pubblico over 18

Così dopo aver fatto le foto e gli autografi si è andato ad allenare per la Nike Human Race 10k, che aveva nel pomeriggio, dopo ha twitterato che ha fatto un tempo di 38 min, il 1° posto ne ha fatti poco più di 31 per cui decisamente non male, siamo certi che la prossima volta farà un tempo migliore.
